1777 - Articles of Confederation

The Articles of Confederation was put together in Philadelphia in 1777. This document was put together very fast because of the Revolutionary War. The Articles of Confederation was very good in war times but bad when it came to peace. This document was built weak, in that the states had more power than the government. The government also couldn’t tax the colonies, they could only ask for money which made the government very poor, and they didn’t have the power to stop disputes but they could suggest a way to stop the dispute. If the states didn’t want to listen, the government couldn’t do anything. This document was weak also because the government had no power to make coins and money or how much the value would be.
