Calvin Coolidge



Calvin Coolidge was president for eight years. He was president from 1924 to1932. He was the 30th president. Calvin was known for walking a pet raccoon. Calvin Coolidge was born on July 4, 1872 in Plymouth Vermont. Calvin Coolidge was the only president born on July 4th. He lived on a farm in Vermont and had a lot of chores to do. He went to school at Amherst in 1895. Calvin Coolidge married Grace and had two sons named John and Calvin Jr. He said at his inauguration “This Nation believes thoroughly in horrible peace. It has never found such a peace, a threatening array of arms.” Calvin Coolidge cleaned up scandals and extravaganzas of the national debt. Calvin Coolidge was mayor of North Hampton. He was also a governor of Massachusetts. He was a member of the Massachusetts legislature and clerk of courts. Calvin died of old age. He died on January 5, 1933. After Calvin Coolidge finished being president, he returned to North Hampton. He then died a year later. Calvin rode a mechanical horse every morning like a cowboy. Calvin Coolidge was a very interesting president.
